WOW!!!!!! What an awesome day. I got to hear Dirk talk and yes he was
wonderful, Tracy said I sat there with a big grin on my face for the
whole hour he was talking. He talked a little about the new BSG, the
A-Team, Toni his boys (all three) ( Tracy will give you a more detailed
report) I was to much in awe to remember it.

| He finished up much to our dismay and His...im sure he could of gone on for another hour but alas it was not meant to be. Tracy and I went for lunch.....Then Tracy let me have my moment of fame......So I went up to his table....stood in line waiting for everyone else to have there turn talking to him....I was just listening his voice captivates me. Ok Its finally my turn. I said Hi Dirk Im going on your cruise in January, and a lady behind me butted right in, and basically took over the conversation and Dirk`s attention, So for all you con goers out there, remember that the person in front of you could of waited twenty years to meet this person, that is why they are there. Please Please Please wait your turn, Don't take their time, they have paid to see this person, I was not impressed as you can tell. My saving grace was it was a quiet convention so I got to go back after with my family for pictures, and Dirk was more than happy to oblige. We were lucky nobody was behind us so we got a good 5 mins of picture taking. |  |
| My youngest had her camera, and was clicking away. Dirk had his head down signing a cruise leaflet for her, and she clicked a picture, well Dirk look up and said, "you got a picture of my bald spot that picture is going to have to be destroyed" lol. He then went on to say. "You have to go to the barbers and they put bald spots in for you" he is so funny. | |
| I then got my hug...( I admit I asked him for one) and he said ssssuuuurrrrrreeee...*sigh* im still in heaven and boy does he hug nice, he then gave my youngest daughter a hug, and then I asked my eldest if she wanted one, being a typical 11 year old she pulled a face, so Dirk grabbed her and gave her a big bear hug basically picked her up of the floor. |  |

I love that fact that when you have your picture taken with Dirk he
pulls you right up to him, I just love the picture of Him and I and im
sure every one else does too, how could you not Dirks is in it.
He is a wonderful warm funny guy. You can tell he feels at home with
kids, and makes sure they have his attention. My 11 year old is not very
sure about him,think its the whole age and boy thing. I was impressed he
knew my girls ages ( I never told him). My youngest 9 was a little in
awe i think.
All in All a great day I can`t wait for the cruise to see him again, and get another hug ( I live for that moment). Please enjoy the pictures Silverstarbuck_2000 aka Sharon Samson |
